Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack has been named in the Scotland squad for the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Russia and Belgium next month. The 27-year-old was surprisingly omitted from Steve Clarke’s first squad in June but he has been in superb form for his club this season.
Considering how well he has been playing for the Gers, it shouldn’t be a surprise that he was finally given a call-up, but supporters on Twitter believe the announcement was well overdue:
Fantastic ????????

Do us proud Ryan. Hope to see many more Rangers players in future squads ??

A few fans think Jack should snub the call-up and stay focused on his role at Rangers:
Announce injury call off.

It will be interesting to see whether Jack gets any game time in Scotland’s midfield. Clarke favoured Aston Villa’s John McGinn, Norwich’s Kenny McLean, Manchester United’s Scott McTominay and Celtic’s Callum McGregor during his first two games in charge.
Whether he will get the chance to impress in the upcoming qualifiers, we shall have to wait and see.
