English Club Make Approach For Rangers Manager Steven Gerrard

Derby County have made an approach for Rangers manager Steven Gerrard, according to the Times.

The Gers boss has been targeted by the Rams as a possible replacement for Frank Lampard, who is expected to take the vacant managerial post at Chelsea.

Gerrard has, however, turned down the chance to talk to Derby as he is focused on bringing success to Rangers.

When he joined the Scottish club in June last year, Gerrard was committed to a long-term project, signing a four-year deal.

The ex-Liverpool player had a successful first season at Ibrox, finishing with the highest points total since Rangers’ return to the top flight three years ago.

Rangers are now aiming to topple Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership table next season, and Gerrard is said to be 100% focused on bringing silverware back to the Light Blues.

He is now preparing for the Europa League qualifier midway through next month, as well as lining up more transfer deals.
