English Championship Outfit Look Set To Hijack Rangers’ Bid To Sign 20 Year Old

Brentford are planning to launch a bid for Aberdeen midfielder Lewis Ferguson, according to the Daily Record. The Bees are said to have tracked the 20-year-old for a while but they are now looking to step up their interest.

Rangers are also said to be keeping tabs on the player but the Dons are said to be “reluctant” to sell the midfielder to a fierce rival.

Whether that means the Gers will opt against battling Brentford for Ferguson, it remains to be seen, but the Scotland Under 21 international is said to be aware of the English club’s pursuit of him.

In terms of the Light Blues, a lot will likely depend on how much money manager Steven Gerrard has to spend in the transfer market when the window reopens.

If the Scottish club do decide to snap up Ianis Hagi on a permanent basis from Racing Genk for £4.5m, the likelihood of them also trying to sign Ferguson as well is very low.
