Rangers winger Ryan Kent has looked way off the pace at the start of this season, with many supporters starting to question whether he deserves to keep his place in the starting lineup.
It has been revealed in recent days that negotiations over extending the 25-year-old’s stay at Ibrox beyond next summer have stalled, and that has led to doubts about the player’s commitment.
Fans on Twitter have been asked whether manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst should drop Kent, and most agree that he should be benched:
Drop him till his contract is up.

Should’ve been dropped months ago

Yes! Hasn’t looked interested since we played dortmund. He hasn’t turned up at all this season. As mad as it sounds I think sakala would do a better job at the minute.

Should have taken the 15 million when leeds wanted him. Brings nothing to the team

absolutely. 1 flash of brilliance every half dozen games is nowhere near the standard required to be a ranger

If we see a future for him @ Rangers then he needs dropped for his own good to refocus and show us the real Ryan Kent 💙🇬🇧💙 GSTQ

It feels we say that nearly every season. Fact is he only hits top form no more than 1in10. Way too inconsistent to play at the very top. But currently he’s hitting new depths of out of form.

Van Bronckhorst does have other options for the left wing, including Tom Lawrence, Rabbi Matondo, Malik Tillman and Fashion Sakala, so Kent’s position in the eleven should be under threat.
With the player seemingly poised to leave Rangers either in January or at the end of the season as well, you would think his place should be handed to someone who is ready to put everything on the line for the club.
