Former Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard has not made the shortlist for the Rangers manager’s job, according to multiple reports.
Lampard, along with Bodo/Glimt boss Kjetil Knutsen, were thought to be alternatives to Giovanni van Bronckhorst but neither are believed to be in the running.
Some fans on Twitter were pleased that Lampard was not under consideration, while others were scratching their heads as to why Director of Football Ross Wilson hasn’t even looked at the 43-year-old:
Brilliant news, need mangers with good experience not ones that failed with bottomless pits of money imo

Agree. No matter how perfect GVB may seem to some for club to say other good candidates are not even on the radar is total negligence

Thank goodness for that. Really don't want Lampard

Lampard not on Radar is a shock tbh. Ticks so many boxes

I'm surprised Lampard is not a contender all the same.

It does seem as though the Light Blues have narrowed down their search very quickly, with van Bronckhorst looking like the red-hot favourite at the moment.
There could still be a left-field choice that comes out of nowhere but, with the League Cup semi-final against Hibernian coming up on Sunday, a decision will need to be made in short oder to ensure a new manager is in place for the clash at Hampden Park.
