Beale Eyes Free Transfer Swoop For Ligue One Star Who Could Finally Solve Problem Position

Rangers manager Michael Beale is lining up a move for Nantes winger Marcus Coco, according to reports in the French media.

The 26-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and he is set to be available on a free transfer.

Coco is not a regular starter for Nantes and he has expressed a desire to leave the Ligue One side in order to get more minutes.

The former France Under 21 international generally prefers to play off the right flank, which is a problem position for the Gers.

Over the last few years, the Light Blues have deployed numerous players on that wing, including Ianis Hagi, Kemar Roofe, Brice Matombo, Fashion Sakala and, most recently, Todd Cantwell.

Getting a free agent who is a specialist in the position seems like a smart move but it remains to be seen whether Coco would be an improvement on the club’s current options.
