Arsenal Join Rangers And Celtic In Battle To Secure League One Starlet

Arsenal have joined Rangers and Celtic in the race for Wigan Athletic striker Kyle Joseph, according to the Mirror.

The English tabloid reports that the Gunners have begun tracking the 19-year-old, along with the two Old Firm clubs, after seeing his performances for the Latics in League One this campaign.

Joseph only made his senior debut back in October, but he has gone on to score five goals in 14 league appearances, including a hat-trick against Burton Albion in a 4-3 win before the turn of the year.

Although the teenager was born in London and came through the youth system at Wigan, he is a Scotland Under 19 international, having made his first appearance for his country in February 2019.

Joseph’s contract expires in June so, while compensation would be required due to his age, it would be a small fee compared to what someone of his ability would normally cost. With Arsenal involved, though, Rangers have a battle on their hands to secure the forward’s signature.
