‘An Interesting Move’ ‘Step In The Right Direction’ Fans React As Rangers Look To Seal First January Signing

Rangers are expected to complete the signing of Norwich City winger Todd Cantwell, subject to a medical.

Negotiations for the 24-year-old have been underway for well over a week, but it seems as though manager Michael Beale has got his first January deal in the bag.

With Cantwell having less than six months left on his contract at Carrow Road, the Gers are unlikely to be paying a high fee for the player, and fans on Twitter have given the transfer their backing:

Considering Cantwell was once linked with a £30m move to Liverpool, it does show you the midfielder has a lot of promise, but it’s also clear that he has lost his way over the past few years.

He was loaned to Bournemouth last season before returning to the Canaries, and he doesn’t always make the impact in games one would expect from a player of his ability. Hopefully, Beale is able to polish a rough diamond.
