‘A Downgrade If We Sell Borna’ ‘Decent Player’ Rangers Fans On Twitter Discuss Potential Swoop For 30 Year Old Fullback

Rangers have been linked with a potential bid for Leeds left-back Barry Douglas, with the 30-year-old being tipped as a potential replacement for Andy Halliday.

The Gers utility player has confirmed that he will be leaving Ibrox next month, and supporters on Twitter have been debating whether Douglas has the ability to strengthen the Scottish club’s backline:

Douglas is an attacking player and is more suited to a wing-back role, with his best season coming at Wolves three years ago, when he contributed an impressive 14 assists as the Midlands club were promoted to the Premier League.

However, his game time since his switch to Leeds has diminished, having made just four league starts this campaign and, with just one year remaining on his current contract, he could be available for a relatively modest fee.

With both Halliday and Jon Flanagan expected to depart, cover for Borna Barisic will be a major priority for manager Steven Gerrard and Douglas could be a decent signing.
