4 Reasons Why Billy Gilmour Would Be Better Off At Rangers Than At Norwich

Former Celtic midfielder Kris Commons believes Rangers should try and sign Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour on loan in the January transfer window if his game time at Norwich continues to be limited.

The former Gers academy graduate joined the Canaries for the season back in July but manager Daniel Farke has not selected him in the starting eleven in the last four matches. Commons believes the 20-year-old could improve Steven Gerrard’s options in midfield:

“If Gilmour is still twiddling his thumbs in January, Rangers should get on the phone to Chelsea and at least ask the question. Some people might think it would be a backward step to return to his old club. But Rangers are a different animal now compared to when Gilmour left in 2017. I’m a big fan of Steven Davis and he’s been brilliant for Rangers. But I would have Gilmour ahead of him all day. That’s how good the boy is.”

It is an interesting point made by Commons so we have decided to look at the benefits of Gilmour making the switch to Ibrox. Press the next page as we list four reasons why the Scotland international would be better off at the Scottish champions.
